Family life:

Born to Saurian traders in their small ancestral village, Jiro spent very little time on Sauria. Her childhood was spent crossing the Alpha and Beta Quadrants as her parents traded Saurian Brandy for medical supplies. It was this exploration and meeting many different races that sparked Jiro’s interest in biology and medicine. She would spend hours analysing all the information she could gather about the species her parents encountered especially the Beta Quadrant species.

Starfleet was not her original career choice, she had planned to be a civilian doctor but after the beginning of the Federation-Cardassian War in 2347 Jiro decided to apply to Starfleet.

Academy Career:

Jiro was accepted to Starfleet Academy on Stardate 27425.28 (May 17, 2348). Throughout her career at the Acadamy Jiro’s professors noted that she was able to retain vast amounts of information. Jiro was generally well liked among her classmates and was always first to volunteer to assist anyone who needed help.

After completing her four years at the Academy Jiro was accepted into Starfleet Medical Academy where she graduated second in the class on Stardate 27380.88 (April 29, 2355).

Starfleet Career:

Jiro has had a long and varied career. Her first assignment was on the USS Tripoli under the command of Jackson Tirel. From there she has served on at least 5 other starships, including one year on the USS Enterprise-D under Jean-Luke Picard and Chief Medical Officer Katherine Pulaski in 2365.

On Stardate 45353.82 (November 25, 2367) Jiro received a commendation for her participation in the first confrontation with the Borg at Wolf 359 aboard the USS Constantine where her medical skill saved at least 30 crewmembers, 10 of whom had been wounded when an ESP conduit exploded in engineering.

    At the beginning of the Dominion War in 2373 Jiro transfered to Starfleet Academy where she met her mate Sikra Jreg. Jiro was attending a Medical Conference on Vulcan at the time of the Breen attack on San Fransico. Her mate, Jreg, was not so lucky and was numbered among the dead.
    After this Jiro transferred to the USS Toulouse under command of Captain Tirek as Chief Medical Officer where she served for 8 years. After this tour Jiro was stationed on Cardassia Prime as a Medical Advisor for the Cardassian Reconstruction. Jiro served in this position until 2398, a total of 15 years, when she was transferred to Deep Space 9.

It was here she worked closely with Medical Officer Lieutenant Vera Jed who with her partner had recently adopted a young Betazoid girl, Lwuvele Dedeztre. Jiro became quite close with young Dedeztre, a relationship that would influence both of their careers in the future.

Jiro was planning to retire from active duty in 2412 until she recieved an invitation from the newly promoted Captain Dedeztre to serve as Chief Medical Officer aboard the USS Sappho-C. Thus, on Stardate 85949.63 (February 10, 2412), as the Sappho-C was making a routine stop at DS 9, Jiro joined Dedeztre’s crew.

• Stardate 84139.58 (February 20, 2410) presented her notable paper “Emergency Warp Coil Rerouting in the Case of the USS Jericho” to a very warm reception at the annual Montgomery Scott Engineering Conference.

Family life:
Born the youngest of 5 children to junior scientists of the Trill Science Ministry, Inly grew up with a love of learning. From a young age she was intensely interested in how everything worked, often taking things apart in order to see all of the connections. This exasperated her father as at times Inly would have trouble re-assembling the equipment. Still father and daughter developed an extremely close bond. Both her mother and sister were chosen to be joined, her mother to the symbiont Fren and her sister to the symbiont Erix. Although she had been taught to regard the symbionts with the utmost respect, her sister’s joining was intensely difficult for young Inly and was what ultimately what led to her choice to join Starfleet, instead of the Trill Science Ministry, a decision that would be incredibly difficult on her father. Inly was the first of her family to join Starfleet.

Academy Career:
Inly was accepted to the academy on Stardate 78166.87 (August 20, 2403) was an average student during her time at the academy though professors repeatedly noted her potential in engineering courses. Course work was difficult for Inly and she had to put in many hours to grasp and complete her courses. Even so, she graduated with just less than honours and finally learned how to put most of her dismantled equipment back together. There is one censure on her record on Stardate 81075.19 (October 20, 2406) for dismantling the engine of a visiting diplomat’s shuttle, ostensibly to improve warp core efficiency. The shuttle design being Katarian Inly was unable to reassemble the engine in time for the diplomat’s departure. After that incident though Inly routinely received the fastest reassembly time in any of her engineering practical exams.

Starfleet Career:
Inly received her first assignment to the USS Jericho under Captain Rick Endris on Stardate 82183.61 (January 4, 2408) during the Jericho’s four year patrol of Romulan space. She served with distinction and was promoted to Lieutenant on Stardate 83906.69 (November 20, 2409) after an engagement with RSE force which, left many of the senior engineering officers critically injured and had it not been for Inly’s technical expertise and quick thinking would have left them stranded in the Khazan Cluster for a week. Instead, after only 2 hours Inly was able to stabilize the warp core enough for the Jericho to reach Starbase 39. After inspecting Inly’s handiwork on the Jericho the senior engineering officer encouraged Inly to write an academic article to be presented at the annual Montgomery Scott Engineering Conference. The paper was extremely well received and has since been included in many Starfleet Academy theses since. After the completion of the Jericho’s tour Inly accepted a position as Chief Engineer aboard the USS Sappho-C under the command of Captain Lwuvele Dedeztre.

Academy Career:
Kirdgoop excelled at the Academy and graduated with honours. He had few friends as his reflective eyes often unnerved his fellow cadets. He graduated with honours. His friends were a few of the Aenor cadets, who due to their telepathic abilities, were not put off at Kirdgoop’s quietness which would amount to silences for days at a time.

Family Life:
Kirdgoop has revealed little about his family and childhood, though he likely was raised communally, like most others on his planet. The Kirhemed chose him to be a part of the exchange as he does not mind being on his own as well as having proven his skill as a defender on multiple occasions

Starfleet Career:
Kirdgoop has excelled in his career with Starfleet though he does best around people who are telepathic. While serving on the Enterprise-E he received two commendations from Captain Data for outstanding performance. Upon being assigned to the Sappho-C he was appointed Chief of Security and enjoys a good relationship with Captain Dedetztre (a Betazoid with telepathic abilities).

** A note on the Kirhemed:
Very little is known about this species. Individuals are intensely private and while being exceedingly hospitable to all Federation delegates they rarely share any personal details. This culture seems to be based around communal living. They are a warp capable society but most prefer to stay on planet. They engage in some short distance trade. While under the Romulan Star Empire they would often be taken advantage of by the Romulans as they have a custom where they must give anything requested by a visitor to their planet.

Gender:
The Kirhemed appear to have a system of 5 distinct genders: kirex, kireb, kir, kibri. and kibra. These genders function on a sliding scale between ‘masculine’ and ‘feminine’. Each gender has a specific function in the community. The kirex are warriors, though they never attack, only defend, mostly from the warriguls, jackal mastiffs and sehlats found in various areas of the planet. The kireb are farmers. The kir are shamans, often entering trances to contact the spirit world, which the Kit named belline controls all things. They also work as healers and record keepers. The kibri are in charge of industry on the planet, producing everything from clothing to medicine to the few pieces of advanced technology produced on Kappa Prime. The last group, the kibra, mind the children and cook food for everyone. All on the planet, regardless of gender, have an advanced intellect. To quote on of the FDC delegates the Kirhemed are ”a Vulcan mind infused with the honour system of a Klingon, tied with a bow of the intense spiritualism of the Bajorans”.

Language:
Most of the Kirhemed language is unpronounceable to outsiders. This is because of a structure of tonal tubing running through the horns of the Kirhemed which produces a resonance that is unique. All names of Kirhemeds and the name of their race have been transcribed as near to the actual name as possible.

Average age at death of a Kirhemed is 206 according to the records kept by the kir.

Family Life:
Born to Antony and Maria Orsini Vincenzo grew up a part of an intensity traditional Sicilian family. Although most others on Earth have given up the Old Religions his family is still Intensely Catholic. They own a vast orchard of olives trees and a small vineyard that produces a very decent wine
”It is certainly not that syntheale,” his father would say disdainfully. Vincenzo was always of the opinion that it was no better than it. He much preferred Chateau Picard or Romulan Ale when he could get his hands on it.
Vincenzo, an only child, was born when his parents were much older. (Hence the middle-name of Isaac, Vincenzo could never convince his mother that the miracle was science, not God.) He was expected to inherit the family “estate” as they called it, though Vincenzo was fairly sure that it was much too small to be an actual estate.
Instead though Vincenzo found a passion for science and adventure. When he wasn’t reading the latest paper on warp theory he could be found indulging in halo novels about the Enterprise and her crew. He always aspired to be like Mr Spock which would at times get him into trouble when he would try to explain to his parents how “illogical” their way of life was. His parents’ old beliefs are still present in his mind though, mostly manifesting in his utter refusal to use a dermal regeneration which in turn has left him with his characteristic scars.
It was only after his stellar entrance exam results that his parents agreed to let him go to the Academy with their blessing. Still, they only visit than while he is on leave on Earth. They are intensely suspicious of transporters but hide their anxiety under the claim that it will change the flavour of their olive oil, of which they always make sure to give Vincenzo at least 6 bottles of ‘when they see him.He doesn’t have the heart to tell them that most of it ends up going to a Ferengi friend of his.

Academy Career:
Vincenzo graduated 10th in his class, He excelled in Warp Theory and Astrometrics but failed Into to Temporal Mechanics twice. He received on censure on his record for pal) starting a bar fight after it was proved he had obtained and drank illicit Romulan Ale.

Starfleet Career:
Vincenzo has always proven to be a valuable officer though he at times struggles to complete reports on time. After being transferred to the Sappho-B he quickly gained the trust of Captain Dedeztre for his insights and valour. When Dedeztre was transferred to the Sappho-C she appointed Vincenzo her first officer.

Family life:
Lwuvele was born to Andrus and Azuma Dedeztre on Betazed. Both Andrus and Azuma were diplomats and were assimilated on by the Borg during a mission in Eta Eridani Sector on stardate 69552.96 (April 3, 2394). After her parents were assimilated Lwuvele was adopted by a close family friend, Jemma Hagen (Betazoid) and her partner Vara Yed (Unjoined Trill). Hagen worked as a astrophysist and Yed is a Medical officer, both are assigned to DS 9. Lwuvele would often spend time on Bajor as she found it a peaceful retreat from the hetect life on the Station.

Academy Career:
Encouraged by her mothers Lwuvele applied to the Academy. She took the exams twice before passing them and was finally accepted. This heralded the start of an average career at the Academy. Lwuvele often spent time alone having never been much good at making friends. her telepathy and empathy was more of a burden to her at the Academy, especially around exam time as she had never quite learned how not to take on the emotions of others that she felt.

Starfleet Career:
Had it not been for the Borg attack on the Alexandra, Lwuvele would have likely continued her average career, stuck at a console, never reaching a higher rank than Lieutenant. Since the attack her passion for leadership has been ignited and she currently pursues all who encroach on the Federation territory in memory of her parents.
